Ties to the Land

Ties to the Land"There is no reason that your dreams have to die with you, or that your property has to end up in the hands of strangers when you are gone."

Clint Bentz

Succession planning and intergenerational transfer are essential, but often overlooked components of estate planning, especially for family forest owners and land-based businesses.

Ties to the Land offers resources to guide family forest landowners through a smooth transition of their forest land from one generation to the next.

What we do:

>> INFORM forest owners, their families and communities about unique benefits and challenges of owning family forest land.

>> INSPIRE FAMILIES to take appropriate actions.

>> PROVIDE TOOLS AND RESOURCES to help forest landowners and their heirs to act effectively to keep their land in the family, or otherwise achieve their goals.

>> COLLABORATE with fellow groups to improve "succession education" programs.

What are the issues?
