BA 463 Family Business Management at the OSU College of Business

Oregon State graduate and undergraduate students should enroll in BA 463, Family Business Management, the four-credit family business management course offered by the Austin Family Business Program during each spring term. The ten-week course addresses aspects of managing an established family business, on a day-to-day basis and planning for succession to the next generation: values, life cycles, marketing strategies, succession, conflict resolution, communications, legal and financial aspects, estate planning, governance and philanthropy.

Family business issues of new companies are a small part of the course content; this is not a course in entrepreneurship or in small business management, and is not immediately relevant for students who want to start their own companies.
